Tree Down, Part 2

Well today was so much fun! We had friends come over and help us split wood. They seemed to have a great time and got a little wood for their stove as well. :o)

A Great Day for wood cutting!

Two strong young men! Momma says, "Be Careful"

Dads watching their boys.

Head Wood Counter on Duty!

Bennett took matters into his own hands, literally!

Now I know why country man is so tired and has sore achy muscles tonight.

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Tree Down

Country Man and Son working on the winter wood. We are going to sell some and save some for a wood burning stove we hope to install this year. This tree has been slowly dying little by little and dropping limbs on our driveway. We have repaired two cars already and decided that it was time for it to go. We should get quit a bit out of it. My country man loves his new chain saw!

The sun is setting on our day but there is still plenty of work left to split this big boy into pieces that are ready to burn. It will have to wait until tomorrow.

Baby Bunnies - ready for adoption!

The bunnies are ready for new homes. They are growing like weeds and are eating real rabbit food now. I think the mommy could use a break! These babies are very active.

We will be sad to see them go, they are so cute.

Reflections

Sometimes things don't turn out the way you wish they would but I am so grateful that I have a Savior that I can lean on in my time of need.

Silly Situations

Just a few pics to make you smile!

And people say Homeschoolers aren't socialized!

Yes, she really does do this by herself!

Silly Cowgirls, where's your horse?

She was asking me to pay for one more rinse cycle.

Giggling with cousins

These two are contemplating life issues, I'm sure!

Nothing like a good book and a quiet place to read it!

I love this picture of our old barn with the sun setting behind the trees!

Some days I really need to reflect on God's mercy and grace to understand how much He truly loves me. He is so faithful even when I am not. I know that I am flawed and He loves me anyway. I just want to strive to glorify Him in everything that I do because other than that, nothing really matters.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. (Ps 19.14)

The Rest of the Crew!

Just a few more faces for you to see:

This is Marie, the spoiled indoor Goddess

Growth is Inevitable, whether we like it or not..

Everyone loves to show off their children and I am no different! Here we have Bretta 21, Brandon 19, Bailey 14, and Bennett 12.

We have 3 1/2 wk old baby bunnies. They are about to outgrow their nesting box. We love to go out every morning to see how much they have grown from the day before. It is amazing how fast this happens. They just learned to drink from the water bottles on the side of the cage. It is so cute to see them all trying to drink at the same time.

This is Mr. Tom. He is a rescued kitty from a friend's barn. We just couldn't turn his adorable face away. He was quite fiesty when we first got him, hence the name "Mr. Tom". I felt everytime he hissed at us that he was demanding respect. Well, he has turned into a sweetheart!

This is Lucy our beloved 11 yr old dachshund. She is the guardian of all things and let me tell you she takes her job very seriously! She is a better mouser than any of the many cats we have had. She is getting older and a little slow on the draw. Her hobbies include: eating, sleeping, and she loves a good coon hunt!

More family members to come.... stay tuned!

Simple Beginnings

This is the beginning of our Wimberly Family Farm Blog! I am excited and a little hesitant. I have admired other blogs from a distance and wanted one of my own but wasn't sure about the responsibility. But as you can see, I am diving in head first. I hope to use this space to share some of what we are doing.

We love to till our own land, raise bunnies, grow our own everthing possible, and have lots of future plans for this place. We live on 13 acres and have 4 terrific almost grown kids. It only seems like yesterday when the first child came into our lives and now here we are 21 yrs later and our last one is almost 13.
I enjoy homeschooling (two still in the nest), baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting just about anything, gardening (vegetables & flowers) and reading. I want to learn more about self-sufficiency and lots of other things. I hope to be able to share with you some things that I do and learn from you as well. Thanks in advance for any comments that you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.

Today was bread baking day so I thought I would share with you a yummy photo of the results! I got this recipe from a friend, thanks for sharing Eleece.
Thanks for stopping by.
