She is a Lab puppy that belongs to Bretta, our oldest daughter. Doesn't she look adorable. Well Millie has some issues. She wants to be with someone at all times. She also isn't house broken and need I say more. We have to watch her like a hawk.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV8lJU_Xhvh8MKySxegTfjJbJjat4MHKRCV6dVmw3SaOQguAZMOIvcFUklPF8f-eRoq8CpLAu2uq2sAJgzoqJd2o2Sjuc5v6fNgKjVfByuQ7qbILH4ODJ8azy-8X4ebm6ziKzWhGjTF50I/s1600/Millie+the+farm+dog.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469993688224855986" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV8lJU_Xhvh8MKySxegTfjJbJjat4MHKRCV6dVmw3SaOQguAZMOIvcFUklPF8f-eRoq8CpLAu2uq2sAJgzoqJd2o2Sjuc5v6fNgKjVfByuQ7qbILH4ODJ8azy-8X4ebm6ziKzWhGjTF50I/s400/Millie+the+farm+dog.jpg" /></a> Millie has really grown over the few weeks she has been at our house. She has already had several adventures too. She was missing one day and we found her in the pasture with the horses. We thought she couldn't get out so we opened the gate to let her out and she jumped thru the gate.<br /><br />She also decided to grab a fishing lure that was dangling from a pole and run with it. It got so imbedded in her jaw, she had to have surgery. We tried everything to get it out ourselves, pushing it forward, then trying to back it out to no avail.<br />$275 later and she was good as new! :o)<br /><br />She also loves to chase our ducks. I don't think she understands the role of a farm dog is to protect, not destroy.Wimberly Farmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01814360647798097268noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9038236342762333675.post-29932131200204442172009-12-28T18:07:00.000-08:002009-12-28T18:16:45.908-08:00Moving!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHfO4iCGIJ_PbeLbehBjTfGOvfMgEqv6YGC-9tdBWmHtBsGEonsQqKZl-jioL27zA8W9fwT0pCbaIeUgBqpwCzlJQngY-CdRnvWNU0DPrAi6VetwvpEXfcZhMRsuV8QsMiJYqM9AD1agL/s1600-h/10-13-09+007.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqHfO4iCGIJ_PbeLbehBjTfGOvfMgEqv6YGC-9tdBWmHtBsGEonsQqKZl-jioL27zA8W9fwT0pCbaIeUgBqpwCzlJQngY-CdRnvWNU0DPrAi6VetwvpEXfcZhMRsuV8QsMiJYqM9AD1agL/s400/10-13-09+007.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420474281732943538" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:georgia;"><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0); font-style: italic; ">All Packed and ready to go! <br /><em><span style="font-family:lucida grande;font-size:85%;color:#330000;">I know this may seem ridiculous to some, but I really want a family cow. Yes I have done all the research and know how hard it will be. I know they have to be milked twice a day, everyday, including Christmas and Easter Sunday. I also know how healthy raw milk is for you and just love the idea of having my own to drink. I want to learn how to make cheese and I already know how to make butter, yogurt and sour cream. I have read about this subject for some time now and plan to get a newborn Jersey to bottle feed at some point. I think spring time would be best for starting one out. That way it will be warmer for a baby to be without it's mother and we will be able to spend more time with it. </span></em>
<br /><em><span style="font-family:lucida grande;font-size:85%;color:#330000;">
<br />The other day, I got to experience milking a sweet Jersey named Bell. I was traveling down a country road and saw her in a pasture. You don't normally see dairy cows around here, so I stopped in to find a friendly homeschool family. They sell eggs from their chickens and share Bell with another family. Each family takes their turn at milking her, one in the morning and one in the evening. They said it was milking time and I got to help! I was so excited to really know what it is like to milk a cow.
<br />
<br />Now I know I want one! :o)</span></em>
